What are the LifeSpan TR1200i Specs?
The track of this treadmill is powered by a 2.5 CHP-continuous duty motor, which is the kind of power you need if you are into jogging or light running.
The running deck measures 20” by 56”. That means that it is perfectly fine for the average user, but it is best to consider a different model if you are a serious runner with a large stride or if you are very tall.
The track speed settings range from 0.5-11mph maximum. The TR1200i comes with 4 Quick Select buttons for speed as well as incline. These buttons enable you to change directly to the desired speed or incline rather than requiring you to scroll up or down to your desired value.
If you want to run a marathon, you would want to go for one of the faster models on the market, which are capable of producing speeds between 12 and 14 mph.
Track cushioning helps to protect your joints. If you run on a well-cushioned treadmill deck, the impact on your joints can be reduced by up to 40%. In this particular LifeSpan model, six shock absorbers support the deck of the treadmill.
The tread belt is 2–ply- 1” thick and has 2.5” diameter rollers, which provide a good durability standard for a home treadmill.
For a more intense workout, like interval training or hill workout, you have a motorized incline of up to 15%. You can change the level of incline both on the console and on the handle controls.
The handlebars are large and comfortable to grip; they include two up and down buttons, which allow you to change your speed and incline while holding on. The heart rate sensors are integrated into either side of the handlebar surface.
The console has a multi-color LCD screen with simultaneous readouts for time, distance, speed, incline level, steps and heart rate. The keys are large and soft-touch, including the start-, enter, up and down buttons.
With 21 built- in fitness programs the TR 1200i is well equipped to help and guide you to achieve your fitness goals faster. There are 17 preset fitness programs, which include five programs for weight management, five for healthy fitness and seven programs for sports training. Two programs will help to improve your cardiovascular fitness, and the remaining two are for you to customize.
The right side of the console includes a USB data port for your LifeSpan data storage device; this is where you can save your data such as the step count, distance, calories burned and heart rate.
Just insert the USB stick and your results are automatically saved every 20 seconds.
When you have finished your training program, insert your drive into your personal computer and upload your data to your account at the LifeSpan Club, should you decide to enroll when you purchase the TR1200i. This online fitness tracking program is designed to motivate and assist you in achieving your fitness goals.
The LifeSpan Club membership is free for customers and their families. In case you want to unlock accounts for family members, you can do that by just entering “FREE” into the enrollment field for each of the accounts on their website.
If you like to be entertained while you are exercising, there is a headphone jack and two speakers on either side of the console. Also, there is a magazine rag or latch where you can put an iPad, but note that it might cover the LCD screen. At either side of the central console, there are two water bottle holders.
In addition to all of the features mentioned above, the LifeSpan1200i has some extra features. For instance, you have a built-in pedometer in form of the Intelli-Step system, which is perfect for your daily goal management. The Intelli-Guard is a safety feature, which ensures that the belt will come to a smooth stop when you step off the machine.
Finally, the machine has a safety key, which is required to operate the treadmill. You insert the key at the front of the dashboard, and the treadmill is operational. Always make sure to attach the key clip to your clothing, parallel or above the height of the safety key, before you begin your workout. When the safety key is pulled, the motor will stop.
The machine uses an energy efficient system, which means that all lights (except for a dimly lit START button) will turn off if there is no activity for ten minutes.
What is the Weight capacity?
This model can handle weight of up to 300lbs. To avoid negative impact on the motor, you might want to consider looking at a treadmill which has a weight capacity of 50 lbs more than your body weight.
The treadmill is heavy, weighing 197lbs. Keeping this in mind, it is best if you decide where in the house you want to put your treadmill before you unpack and assemble it.
The dimensions of the unfolded treadmill are 70.25”x33”55” and the manufacturer manual advises you to have a safety clearance of 2 feet on either side and to the front of your machine, and a 7 feet clearance area behind your treadmill.
All of the tools you need to assemble the treadmill come in a hardware contents bag. LifeSpan recommends that you use two people for assembly and follow the instruction manual, which covers all the steps clearly. The assembly time should be under an hour.
Folding the LifeSpan TR1200i Treadmill
The folding mechanism employs the EZfold technology, which means it utilizes a hydraulic shock to assist with folding and unfolding, which makes it very easy to lift and lower the tread belt.
Make sure when you fold it up that the hydraulic shock is properly locked in place. When folded up, the treadmill will take half of its length, which will take up 39”x33”x63”. When you are unfolding, the hydraulic shock is set to drop the tread belt softly.
Maintenance and Lubrication
The manufacturer recommends wiping the treadmill down after each use. They also recommend that, on a monthly basis, you remove the motor cover and clean around the motor area, especially when there might be plush carpet fibers flying around.
The running belt comes pre-lubricated from the factory, and you are advised to lubricate the belt every three months regardless of use. There is also a Silicone icon on the console to indicate that lubrication is due.
The user manual explains when and how to lubricate the treadmill.
You are advised to use 100% silicone and to avoid applying any aerosol silicone sprays. Additionally, you may want to place your treadmill on a mat to protect the floor surface.
